Sometimes, I do really boring stuff. For example, I have started to catalog my vast collection of video tapes again. It was something that I had started last year, but kinda lost steam after about 30 tapes. So far, I’ve done 8 or so in the last two days, and I remembered why it’s boring – all the fast-forwarding, reversing and trying to figure out where programmes change over from one to another, which is especially fun when you record the direct input from a cable box where you change the channels.
But, it’s worth doing as I am wanting to get some of this stuff onto more stable storage like DVDs, both as converted footage and as proper DVDs.
If only there was a way to directly convert video that I record (which is already in DVD compatible MPEG2 format) to proper DVD files, that’d be great.
