It’s Sunday, so it’s another weekly roundup of the walks I’ve taken over the week, along with a recap of what I’m doing in my personal improvement plans.
It was back to the regular first thing in the morning routine. Apparently I’m not the only person who goes out (at least every once in a while), as while I was walking I spotted a fellow jogging, along with his dog. As it turned out, I saw them again a little while later in my walk. Also, as I was walking into the park, I spotted an interesting site – someone let their dog leave some, er, deposits. Not just anywhere, but in the area right next to the gate you have to walk around (it’s to stop vehicles, and not people) to get into the park. I took the regular route.
Total distance – 4867 steps, 3.89km
It was another somewhat humid morning. I took the regular route again; on the way back, however, I found a very interesting sight – a condom sitting on the road. I don’t know how it got there, but it was there.

It was a little on the warm side, but it wasn’t too humid, so I decided to take the long path. I then decided to continue along the path to see where it went after I came out to the point where I know I can head back toward the exit. As it turns out, I managed to get to the parking lot where the “rest” of the people come into the park and arrive. I also found the area above, it’s at the bottom of a hill just off of the parking lot. On my way back, next to one of the benches, was a Styrofoam cooler, filled with empty beer bottles. It happened to have a piece of paper (a form for use of some of the park’s facilities), with a name and phone number on it. I resisted the temptation to call up and inquire about the trash they left. 😉

I decided to do some more exploring – there was a small path that shot off of the main path that I’d seen since the first time I was in the park. As it turns out, this path actually doesn’t lead anywhere, and is not very well kept, with branches everywhere on the ground. After a little while, it just kind of petered out into the forest.
Total distance – 5404 steps, 4.32km
It was a little cooler, and a bit less humid. The walk was along the regular path, and fairly straightforward; not really much to report today. 😉

I was busy and so I didn’t get out until it had rained for the first time, and it was still drizzling when I went out, so I grabbed my umbrella and went along my way, now dry. I took the long route to check if the junk had been removed, and it was. However there is a single can of Coke now there. If it’s still there next time I go through, I’m picking it up 😉
Distance – 5800 steps, 4.64km
No rain today, but no sun either. Nevertheless, it was still very humid – so much so that you could see the haze that you were walking into. It was the regular route again.

In other news, I now have the volunteering form for the first place that I contacted about volunteering. I’ll get it filled out and, depending on schedules, should be able to get in there later in this week or early next week. I also contacted the mental health people, and got an appointment – for October. Hopefully I’ll be able to get in before then; I’m in the standby list.
I also managed to get to bed before midnight every day except for Friday and Saturday. I’ve noticed that I’m sleeping longer if I go to bed earlier, so that is definitely one thing that I am going to keep doing. This week’s goals include working on some blog posts that I can set aside and use for a day when I don’t have anything on my mind to post about. I also have another project that I’m going to start working on and want to focus on, but it’s something I’m not quite ready to post about right now ;). My goal for that is to get the basics down of it this week.
