Cugat - No, I've not seen Anatomy of a Murder; not that that should come to you as a surprise ;)

With Django, just that little clip shows his genius, especially considering that he only had the use of the two fingers (according to one of the comments on either that video or the other one I watched, and I only watched the two - no temporal vortex for me this time :))

Forest - Believe it or not, I was brought up with, first, 60s music, and then country music when it was popular in the last decade (I actually have almost the whole Garth Brooks CD collection, and a first edition of his "Double Live" album. It wasn't until I was in high school that I started to listen to jazz. When I was in college, I started to discover some of the bigger indie groups like The Killers. Now, and I have to give props to Snoskred for this one, I'm beginning to get my footing in rock music and actually listening to Metallica and liking it.

I agree that pop music of today is just abysmal - there are a few good songs on the radio, but I find that the ones that I like are closer to the rock side of the spectrum, though there is actually some songs that I do like; generally, if you check out my last.fm profile, you can find those; I'll link to it eventually again ;)

Thanks for the comment on the new look; I do have a bit of work left to do - most noticeably the About page; that's on my to-do list for tomorrow. I also have some work on the sidebars, such as getting the US Blogs up there, and some new features that I'm thinking of.

If you hadn't noticed already, I am very proud of the work I've done in putting the site together, and I'm definitely not going to be resting on my laurels! ;)

Thanks y'all :)

I am one of those 'I like a bit of everything' nowadays too.

However my roots lay in the indie and alternative rock scene.

Being a child of the 90's in London, UK and dispicing what was then POP music I guess my musical interests formed the same way as many others of my generation.

One of my best albums of all time ever and ever is an album called In it for the money by a band called Supergrass.

In fact recently I wrote a rather long post about them with some links to music vids and stuff, if you are at all interested that is....

This is that said link http://www.therandomforest.info/2007/09/where-did-strange-ones-go.html

Also I like the new look. I marked it as Good rather than Excellent on the poll as I didn't want you to get too cocky and start sitting back not trying to improve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Good choice with Duke. I haven't heard this one in a while. Did you ever see him in the movie "Anatomy of a Murder"? He's Jimmy Stewart's piano playing friend. Weird.

I find that I always turn to a Django Rheinhardt and Stephane Grappelli 5 CD box set I bought a few years ago. Nobody else sounds like them. And Django only used two fingers on his left hand which makes it more amazing. If you care to see: http://youtube.com/watch?v=K6nkHJQnEPs
