You have a gorgeous dog. I went through this same thing recently with my cat. I then had to make that final decision to let her pass. You will know when that time is right. I think about my rosie everyday and it’s all good things.

Thank you all for your kind words. I’m fortunate that we’ve had her for such a long time, and that she has lived what would be considered quite a full life of 14 years - even if the first 3 of those were with a different family that wound up with her at the humane society, which is what led her to our home.

We made the call yesterday to the vet and have an appointment over there at 9:30 this morning. I’m not going to be in the room when the euthanize her, but I do want to be the one who takes off her collar before they do it.

I know that when I had to have my dog put down it was gut-wrenching. So sorry that you have to go through this and that your dog is in pain. Knowing that its the right time and the right thing to do doesn’t make it any easier though. Only time does that.

This has to be a really hard time for you. I’ve been through this with two dogs and its never easy.

I’m so sorry to read about your pet’s health problems. It’s a hard decision to make, but if it’s her time, you need to let her go so she doesn’t suffer. That’s the best, most loving thing you can do for her now, as hard as it is for you and your family. I know what you’re going through right now as we had to have our 1 year old cat euthanized in March, quite suddenly - it still gives me pain, but it does get easier as time passes.

I am sorry to learn the sad news about your beautiful dog. I know you will treasure the time you have left with her. The Rainbow Bridge is a beautiful place.
